Picnic and Zoo

The past few days have been pretty busy for us. Saturday was a sad day as we watched our Vols get beat by the Gators. Sunday after Church, we took the boys to the park for a picnic and a hike. The .6 mile hike took us over an hour. Larry is convinced it was longer. WE didn't see any animals because the boys were too loud, but they had a great time climbing rocks and playing in the creek. Yesterday, Mason was off from school, so we headed to the zoo for the day and I mean the day. I've never spent so long at the zoo, but they were having so much fun. Needless to say, they were worn out. Rex enjoyed the outing by sleeping the whole time. Mason has soccer tonight and Thurs and Church tomorrow night, so we will be busy the rest of the week. Enjoy the pics.

Rex's Protection

OK, so Mason and Hayden are always saying the funniest things, but some stick out more than others. Hayden calls Mason 'Me' and calls himself 'Mike' or 'Mica'. We stay pretty confused around here about who he is talking about. Well, Mason likes to know how all of God's creatures protect themselves and we are always trying to give him the answer. I mean he wants to know how a fly and an ant protect themselves. Sometimes we have to resort to, 'They don't protect themselves!'. In the past couple of weeks he has asked how Rex protects himself and we tell him that it's our job to protect him since he is so little. Well, last night as we were driving, Mason was looking at Rex and he had his eyes crossed which Mason calls his crazy eyes and decided that that's how Rex protects himself. He uses his crazy eyes to scare people away. I laugh as I write this because it was so funny.

Week in Review

Ok, so things around here stay pretty hectic and it's really hard to steal a few minutes to get on the computer, but here's a recap of the past week. Mason is keeping us busy with school and soccer. He had his first game this past week and was awesome. He's so fast and scored 2 goals, 1 was for the other team, but we didn't care. It was still great. Hayden enjoys going and thinks he's on the team. This past Saturday, I ran in my 2nd Marine Mud Run. It's a 5K trail run with obstacles that yes are in the mud. It's been 5 weeks since I had Rex, but I had been running, so it went pretty well. I didn't get as muddy as last year, but still had a great time. Rex is doing great and is starting to grow. He's become more alert and is still a great baby. Enjoy the pics.
