Cardboard Boat Race

This past weekend, Larry built his first cardboard boat race and at the last minute we decided that I should ride in it with Mason. We had a great time and Mason and I came in 2nd out of 19 boats. The whole event turned out great and I know next year will be bigger and better. After the races, we had to try and sink all of the boats. Needless to say from the pictures, ours sank pretty easily. This week, I'm spending time getting ready for Baby T-Rex as we like to call him around here. We are all dinosaurs! Mason and Hayden are now sharing a room and it seems to be going well. Of course, they are staying up way to late talking. Baby T-Rex's room is ready. NBC is doing a great job keeping me posted with how many days until my delivery since it's the start of the Olympics. I'll keep everyone posted.

Getting closer to the Big Day!

We had a nice relaxing weekend. My parents came up Friday to watch Mason play T-Ball. He did a great job, but decided to run like a 'turtle' around the bases instead of a 'ostrich'. He said he was hot. He has a play-off game tonight, so I'm hoping to get some pictures. I also sign him up for soccer today. He says he wants to run, but not kick the ball, so this should be interesting. Saturday, Larry and I headed out with the boys to pick out our flooring. It's so overwhelming, but I think we landed on Tigerwood. It's really cool and a mixture of light and dark. We then decided to head to Babies R Us to buy the new baby(still nameless) a new carseat and 2 new toys for the carseat courtesy of Mason and Hayden. We got home just in time for me to take a nap. Yesterday, I took the boys to the pool. Hayden just wants to jump in the pool all the time and it wears me out catching him, but he refuses to wear his float since the other kids(much, much older kids) don't have a float. He is Mr. Independent. Last night, Larry and I met with the cabinet guy and picked out all of our cabinets and countertop. I asked him if Larry could work there on the weekends to help pay for all the cabinets! The rest of the week will be spent getting ready for our Cardboard Boat Race, which I'm co-chairing. All proceeds go to a new library building fund. Larry and Mason will get into a cardboard boat and race it down the pool without sinking. Don't worry, I'll take pictures. We are also on baby watch and countdown, 17 days and counting. I hope he doesn't decide to come early because we aren't exactly ready yet!

July 4th and Jeremy's wedding

We had a great 4th of July and then headed up to Britol for Jeremy and Trish's wedding. Their wedding was beautiful and a lot of fun. As you can tell from the pictures, the children had a great time dancing. The week we got back was busy. My friends, Meredith and Andrew, stopped by to share news that they were building a house too in Nolensville, TN. Then, my friend, Shelley, came into town for a few days. We did lots of shopping and eating. Needless to say, I was worn out and ready for our first low-key weekend since the middle of May. Of course, if low key means trying to get our current house ready to be put on the market. Today, I'm 36 weeks pregnant and I'm set to deliver 3 weeks from Friday, 8-8-08. I'm feeling great and can't believe it's almost time. We still don't have a name picked out, probably because our builder wants me to pick out cabinets, countertops, floors, and paint all in the next few weeks. It would be nice to have all of that done before the baby arrives. I decided to hire a decorator to help because I was getting too overwelmed with all of the decisions. I can't wait to see what she comes up with for the house. They are still bricking(it has taken forever) and they will hopefully start drywalling next week. They've gotten behind because Larry had to have some additional wiring done for the theater room. I'll be sure to post some pics once the brick is done.

Overdue update

OK, so I thought summers were supposed to be relaxing. Well, this one has been anything but relaxing. Emily and Sasa's wedding was almost 3 weeks ago and was beautiful. Everyone had a great time. Then, we had Vacation Bible School at the Church and that kept us busy the following week. I was worn out from teaching the 3rd graders. After that was over, Larry and I snuck away for an early anniversary weekend. We headed to the Highlands in NC. If you have never been, I highly suggest you go. Larry and I called it the Hampton's for Atlanta. We stayed at the Old Edwards Inn and Spa and were spoiled all weekend. Larry was especially spoiled at the Spa and didn't want to leave. We've decided to make it an annual thing since it's only 2 hours away from us. When we got back from there, Mason started T-Ball. I wasn't sure he would like it since he's not a big sports person, but he has really enjoyed it and looks forward to the games. It helps that they have won all of their games so far. Last weekend, I had a nice getaway to Atlanta with a friend to attend the 'Deeper Still' conference. We got to hear Beth Moore, Kay Arthur, and Patricia Shrirer speak and it was wonderful. This weekend we are gearing up for Jeremy's wedding and then we've decided to start working on a name for the baby. Poor thing is still nameless and we only have 5.5 weeks left. The house is coming along great. They are bricking and will start drywalling the inside sometime next week. We are busy making decisions about cabinets and floors. Well, that's an update about everything that's been going on the past couple of weeks.
